Waterdog Now Open (Was: Closed Due to Rain Damage)

Update January 27, 2023: All trails at Waterdog are now open except Chaparral Trail. You may encounter marked and unmarked hazards, as trail conditions have changed. Beware of fallen trees and erosion. Avoid wet sections. Use trails at your own risk.


Update January 7, 2023: Per the Belmont police department, the trails at Waterdog (and other Belmont open space) remain closed until further notice.


From Mayor Julia Mates as well as the official Parks and Recreation Department account:

Due to the continued impacts of heavy rains, Waterdog and San Juan Canyon Open Spaces will remain CLOSED to the public. We have encountered earth movement in several areas and soil may be unstable.

Please respect the closures!
